2007년, 하나의 만다라에서 시작된 세계A world that began with a single mandala in 2007

김경호는 2007년 첫 작품 <한국만다라>를 통해 한국만다라화라는 독자적 화풍을 창시했습니다. 이러한 성취는 ‘대한민국 대한명인—한국만다라(제216–473호)’ 인증과 ‘한국신지식인’ 선정, 그리고 2018년 신한서재능경력대학원에서 취득한 ‘한국만다라 1호’ 학위를 통해 공식적으로 인정받았습니다. 이후 그의 작업은 선천과 후천, 마고 신화 등 한국의 전통 사유를 조형언어로 옮기는 순수미술 회화로 확장되었고, 한지·먹·한국화 물감이라는 전통 재료와 캔버스·아크릴이라는 현대 재료를 자유롭게 오가며 독자적인 화면을 구축해 왔습니다. In 2007, Kim Kyung-ho created his first work, Korean Mandala, establishing a painting style he calls Korean Mandala Painting. This achievement has been formally recognized through his certification as a Korea Grand Master ("Daehanmyeongin") for Korean Mandala (Cert. No. 216–473), his selection as a Korea New Intellectual, and the "Korean Mandala No. 1" degree he earned in 2018 from Shinhan Lifelong-Learning Graduate School. His practice has since grown into a body of fine-art paintings translating Korean cosmological ideas — the Earlier and Later Heavens, the Mago creation myth — into visual form, moving freely between traditional materials such as hanji, ink and Korean pigment, and contemporary media such as canvas and acrylic.

복(福) 시리즈, 달마 시리즈, 삼합 시리즈, 우주 시리즈, 한글을 주제로 한 문자도 연작에 이르기까지, 그의 작업은 하나의 주제에 머무르지 않고 계속해서 확장됩니다. 2019년에는 ‘피카소와 함께하는 김경호展—2019 세상을 열다’를 열었습니다. 최근에는 비건 버섯가죽에 인두로 새기는 공예 작업을 통해 지속가능한 소재와 전통 회화적 감수성을 결합한 새로운 영역으로 나아가고 있습니다. From the Blessing (Bok) series and the Dalma series to the Samhap series, the Cosmos series and calligraphic paintings built around Hangeul, his work continually expands beyond any single theme. In 2019 he held the exhibition "Kyung-ho Kim Exhibition with Picasso — 2019, Opening the World." Most recently, he has extended his practice into pyrography on vegan mushroom leather, combining a sustainable material with the sensibility of traditional painting.
